This review was originally published after more than two years of regular use of the replacement COSORI 5.8QT air fryer. It has now been fully updated to reflect longer-term ownership insights, newer Cosori models on the market, and what buyers should realistically expect in 2026.
**As of the second week in January 2026, the air frier tray broke. As its past warrenty, im afraid this is the end of the line for the Cosori air fryer for me. In all fairness, this unti was used everyday, so for the price I paid, I still feel it was a good bargin.

Quick Overview
The COSORI 5.8QT air fryer is designed for people who want faster, healthier cooking without giving up convenience or capacity. With its square basket design, digital controls, and generous size, it has remained one of Cosori’s most popular models for everyday home use.
At this capacity, it comfortably handles meals for couples and small families, and it’s large enough to avoid cooking in multiple batches for most dishes.
My Real-World Experience After 2+ Years of the recall replacement
After more than 4 years of frequent use, this air fryer has proven to be a dependable kitchen appliance — with a few caveats that are worth knowing before buying.
What It Does Well
- Consistent cooking results Fries, chicken wings, vegetables, reheated leftovers, and frozen foods all cook evenly and crisp up well with minimal oil.
- Fast and efficient It preheats quickly and cooks noticeably faster than a conventional oven, making it ideal for weeknight meals.
- Easy to use The digital controls and presets are straightforward. You don’t need to think much once you’ve used it a few times.
Good capacity for everyday cooking
The square basket design makes better use of space than round baskets, which is especially helpful for items like chicken breasts or fish fillets.
Where It Falls Short
- Long-term wear is real
- After extended use, the non-stick basket coating does show wear. This doesn’t immediately affect performance, but it’s something to be aware of.
- Durability varies by unit
- Some owners report components like baskets or controls wearing out around the two-to-three-year mark. Others have units that last longer with no issues. It’s not universal, but it’s not rare either.
- Recall history matters
- Older Cosori air fryers were part of a major recall several years ago. Newer models are not affected, but buyers should confirm which version they’re purchasing.
Features and Performance
Capacity and Design
The 5.8-quart capacity hits a practical middle ground — large enough for family meals without taking over your counter space. The square basket allows for better airflow and more usable cooking surface.
Controls and Presets
Most versions use a digital touchscreen with multiple presets for common foods like fries, chicken, steak, seafood, and vegetables. Manual temperature and time controls are also easy to adjust.
Cooking Results
Performance remains strong even after years of use. Foods cook evenly, crisp well, and retain moisture better than traditional oven baking. It’s especially good for frozen foods and quick protein meals.
Cleaning
The removable basket and tray are easy to clean and dishwasher-safe. Cleanup is still simple, even after long-term use.
Pros and Cons Summary
- Consistent, crispy cooking results
- Large, practical basket size
- Easy-to-use digital controls
- Faster than oven cooking
- Simple cleanup
- Non-Stick coating in basket starting to wear
- Durability can vary between units
- Buyers should verify they’re purchasing a newer, post-recall model
Is the COSORI 5.8QT Worth Buying in 2026?
Yes — with realistic expectations.
The COSORI 5.8QT air fryer remains a solid choice for everyday cooking if you want quick meals, healthier frying alternatives, and straightforward operation. It performs well, even after years of use, and still offers good value for its price point.
That said, it’s not a “buy it for life” appliance. Like many mid-priced kitchen devices, long-term durability can vary, and some parts may eventually need replacement.
If you value convenience, speed, and versatility, it’s still a strong option in 2026.
