2026 Update:
After five years of heavy daily use, the Samsung C49HG has exceeded expectations. The panel remains flawless with zero dead pixels, consistent brightness, and reliable performance. Few monitors age this well, making the C49HG one of the most durable and worthwhile ultra-wide displays I’ve used.
The Samsung 49″ CHG90 curved Gaming monitor is an impressive piece of technology. With its ultra-wide 49″ screen and 32:9 aspect ratio delivers an immersive gaming experience. The monitor supports HDR600 and FreeSync Premium Pro, making it ideal for gamers. The QLED Quantum Dot technology allows for impeccable image quality and impressive color reproduction. The monitor also has a silky 144Hz refresh rate, flexible and versatile screen splitting, and a blistering native refresh rate over a DisplayPort connection. It’s an ideal choice for a mixed-usage monitor and the extra screen real estate beats having two normal 1080 monitors side by side. All in all, the Samsung 49″ CHG90 is an excellent choice for a curved computer monitor.
Using a Desktop Mounting System to Stack Two 49 inch
As I included in my planning to use a custom desktop mounting post to stack two 49-inch Samsung curved monitors. Here are a few things to consider when setting up your monitors:
- Make sure the mounting post is compatible with the VESA pattern and size of your monitors. VESA is a standard for mounting holes on the back of monitors and TVs, and each monitor may have a different pattern.
- Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer for attaching the mounting post to your desk or work surface. It is important to securely mount the post to ensure that it can safely support the weight of the monitors.
- Once the mounting post is securely installed, carefully attach the monitors to the post according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure the monitors are evenly spaced and level, and that all screws are tightened properly.
- Connect the monitors to your computer using the appropriate cables. If you are using a desktop computer, you may need to use a graphics card with multiple display outputs.
- Adjust the settings on your computer and monitors to your preference. This may include setting the display resolution, refresh rate, and color calibration.

Lots of Screen for the Money
I recently purchased two Samsung 49 inch computer monitors and to date I am extremely impressed with the performance. I matched the purchase with 4 other monitors to give my office computer a little kick. I used the monitor post mounting system product made by Peerless, item #9sIA55CCZD6041. The large screen size provides a immersive viewing experience and the picture quality is exceptional. The monitor also has thin bezels which adds to its sleek design. The stand that is supplied with the monitors is a good stand, sturdy and allows for easy adjustment of the monitor’s height and angle. If you need to stack the monitors, you will require the mounting post I mention earlier. The overall build quality of the monitor feels premium and I am very happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone in the market for a large and high-quality display.
Ease of install
Upon unboxing the monitor, it is apparent of the care Samsung has put into the packaging. Everything is neatly laid out, instructions to attach the pieces required for the included stand, OR the upgraded post stand I use to stack two monitors. A warning on the screws, do not use a screw driver that isn’t properly sized to match the screw head. I found the screws a little weak and gave me the feeling of easily stripping.
